Default New Original - "Just Friends"

Still in the demo stages and fleshing it all out, thought I'd share here to see what you all think. Not autobiographical, I promise- just a prompt I found in a songwriter's book.

Thanks, as ever, for listening.

You've got an excellent voice! Really enjoyed this. What did you do that your guitar sounds like a violin? Or was that a violin? Excellent song, man.

Many thanks for the kind words, gents. I greatly appreciate it.

I was playing my Jazzmaster through a little Vox practice amp and recorded it with GarageBand via the MacBook Pro's internal mic (which is MUCH MUCH worse than the previous generation's, as it happens) and then tweaked EQ and compression settings until I found something that was halfway listenable.

Really, I just need to stop being so lazy and have my Duet out and ready at all times.

I like it too. Made me think of an old Randy Newman vocal somehow.

Thanks for listening, Jeff. Newman's got some great tunes- too bad he's often just written off as the "theme song" guy he became in the nineties.

I liked it a lot. Looking forward to a "full production"!

Great stuff - soulful! I wouldn't try to pretty that up too much...

Many thanks for the listen, J.R.! I really appreciate it! (Oh, and thanks for all you do in facilitating the AGF- we all are in your debt and don't say it enough!)
