String Change on an OF660
May be a dumb question, but that's okay I can take some razzing :-)
What is the best way to wrap the strings around the tuners so they don't loosen when the neck of the OF660 is detached? I would like to change strings and coming to the community of experts for the unique removable neck situation. |

Not a dumb question at all. I don't own a Journey so I can't say for sure, but I use the Taylor method on all my guitars which I can't imagine not being suitable for the OF660.

Has anyone with an OF660 put a capo on the first or second fret to keep the strings snug?

It certainly couldn't hurt. That said, I just watched a video of the OF660 being put through its paces and it seems that the correct tuner string winding should suffice.

I don't but I like the idea - might do it next time I take it out, thanks for the idea.

I haven't changed strings on my OF660 yet, so they are how the factory did it, but appear fairly standard.
I have discovered when putting the neck back on that if I make sure the strings go back on the bridge exactly where they were when I removed the neck, that the guitar stays in tune (in other words, unwanted unwinding at the tuners doesn't seem to be a problem). |

A very tiny drop of super glue stabilized mine.
