Default W a n t e d : 2007 Gibson Hummingbird Quilt Maple Special Run for Guitar Center

Looking for a very nice Hummingbird Quilt. These were done for Guitar Center in 2007. Would also be up for a nice condition Hummingbird that looks anything like this:

FYI:

Apologies if I've used your Hummingbird for my wanted poster; it's a beauty.

Mid-Atlantic seaboard meet possible. Thx.

Doesn't necessarily have to be quilt; that's just the maple that was chosen for this GC run, which, as the first image illustrates, is less of the over-the-top cherry red that some of the other maple 'birds can be.

Maple can often bring more of a crispness than mahogany, still developing the full voice of the Square, but kept in check, and rendered maybe a bit more intimate, by the short scale of the Hummingbird. That's the thinking, anyway.

. . . and yes, the 'bursted back with the three dimensional effect that some quilt can have is pretty cool, too.

Yes, still looking for a nice, not-too-red maple Hummingbird.

Thanks for trying to help in the search, Larry- it's just that the 2007 special runs were less RED (see pic in OP).

Yes, I've seen Gibson_Supreme's (his id on eBay) amazing offerings, and have been watching the one you'd pointed me to. . . just a bit red for morning guitar duties. Maybe it's less-so in natural light, but:

Wow.

thanks for looking for me, though.

Default Maple Hummingbird

Hello Mr. Burst,
I have a 2009 Birdseye Maple, one of 10 according to COA, a few pick marks on the pickguard. Mine looked honeyburst is pics taken by Lebanon. Looks more vintage sunburst in my home, esp. parked to custom SJ-200. Hve thought about selling it first time you posted ad...have found possible replacement. If interested can post pics of send thru text. Have case candy and original blue lined case, but using better tkl case now.
Let me know if you are interested.

It does sound interesting. This is a Hummingbird, not an AJ, yes? I know Gibson did some birdseye Advanced Jumbos in '09. If you could post a pic or two here, that would be great.

Also- could you please clarify what you meant by "Mine looked honeyburst is pics taken by Lebanon" ?

Thanks

Default maple bird

Yes Sir,
It is a 2009 short scale Hummingbird. I traded a Sumi F-5 for it, from Lebanon Guitar in Lebanon MO. I have the pics they had posted, plus some I took with my smart-*** phone the I just figured out how to send to the computer. Am waiting for DropBox to rifle thru my files while setting up.....when finished I will post a link to Pics. May figure out a way to post to site if I don't stroke out. <G>
Robt.
