I didn't speed after all.
A while ago I started a thread about gradually picking up speed in a song.
Tonite I accompanied my wife finger style to Gordon Lightfoots "Song for a Winter's Night". I was nervous as hell. I just don't do this kind of thing. This was a festival where you are adjudicated. The venue was a smaller recital hall with a stage going out into the crowd. We were surrounded by 50-60 other musicians, vocalists and spectators. NOT what I expected. (OK. time for a nervous pee) When we got on stage, I took 10 seconds and got the speed in my head and started tapping my foot. When we got going, I stayed focused and pulled through it. The foot tapping definitely helped. It went pretty good. My wife's happy. So am I.
