Default Rainsong! How does the neck feel?

I was just wondering how the back of the neck feels? Is it smooth? The dread I play now I sanded the back of the neck to get the gloss off of it. It is smooth, and my hand doesn't catch when I am transitioning fast up and down the neck. Is the back "grippy" for lack of a better term? Thanks
