Bascetta parlour visits its maker
My Bascetta parlour is around 2 and a half years ago now, and has just been back to visit its maker for a fret dress, so I thought I'd use that fact as an excuse to post a few pics. I've posted these on the forum before, but hey, what;s the Custom Shop area for if not to share our enjoyment of our beloved custom guitars?
Matthew Bascetta is locally based, so it's nice and easy for me to get this guitar back to him whenever it needs anything, and he's also the luthier I go to when I need work doing on any of my guitars or mandolins, and it was nice to have a chat and a catch up with him today. This little redwood/walnut guitar that he made me is a joy to own. It's very compact (12.5" lower bout, 24" scale) and comfortable to play, with a warm bright tone that suits me really well, and I just love it. So, here are some pics of the guitar: Fliss Last edited by Fliss; 01-21-2011 at 05:46 AM. |

Thanks chaps
Yes, it is a joy to play. I originally envisaged it as my "couch" guitar, but it also goes out with me to the folk club, singarounds, open mics etc and does everything I need it to. It also helps me to make new friends, because it's such an unusual guitar that people come up to me and ask me about it, so it's a great way to start up conversatons with people I've never met before! That just looks warm. I can only imagine it plays as mellow as it appears. What a great little guitar.
