Default Martin HD28.... where does the strap button go.

Just bought a new Martin HD28 Sunburst from LA Guitar Sales. Ted was very helpful as usual. But now where do I put the strap button and are there any words of wisdom in installing one. Thanks.

Most people use position 5.

I found Stewmac's article helpful ... http://www.stewmac.com/How-To/Online...ap_button.html

I put mine at position 3 on my new Halcyon, but you do need a small block inside to take the screw. I like it because it’s out of the way.

Yeah, that is a good place, my Emerald X7 has it there, so does my Telecaster , I’ve seen it on some Guilds too.

However, I’m afraid that doing that to a Martin is strictly forbidden and could cause some of the senior members here to collapse.

Haha no doubt

I have to admit, I haven’t done it to either of my Gibsons.
