Default Olson SJ "The Tree" (part II)

Thanks again to everyone for reading and posting in the original build thread.

Here are some recent pictures of my Olson SJ.

I hope to update this thread with new sound clips and videos very soon.

Thank you for your continued support.

Would love to bury my nose in the sound hole, and then play this beauty!

Beautiful guitar...I couldn't play it. I'd start to play, look down at the fret board an go "Ouh ahhh look a shinny thing!", forget what I was doing and just look at the fingerboard for ten minutes.

Congrats on a great build.

Thanks, guys.

I enjoy looking at this guitar so much that I don't need to play it...

Oh, look at that runout! Yuck! Oh, and where's your ToneRite? I thought you had it attached to that guitar every time you put it down.

Ok, obviously I'm kidding. We are both very fortunate to own even one of Jim's guitars, and I'm thrilled about the one you have nearing completion now. You have amazing tastes in appointments and of course Jim is the man to bring those ideas to beautiful fruition. Oh, yes, and you can play fairly decently as well

I take it you're not too bothered by the abalone inlays...

From a personal standpoint, commissioning an Olson was the pinnacle of a lifetime. I worked for nearly 20 years to reach a point where I could afford one without making large sacrifices elsewhere. I don't think I will buy anything more expensive or extravagant other than a house and perhaps a car when I feel like being a daily driver again.

As for the inlays, I don't deserve much credit, I essentially went for nearly every option, except the back perimeter inlay which I skipped for cost considerations. All props go to Jim for posting persuasive pictures on his website.

Thank you!

I tend to highlight the bling in my photos but the guitar is actually a bit more subtle in person...
