Default FB, Frets and Bridge

The big day approacheth...I am scheduled to pick up the guitar tomorrow afternoon! Woohoo!

In the meantime Larry sent along pics of the fretboard being leveled, the frets and tuners, and the final prep on the bridge prior to actual set up.

Enjoy the pics. They are in multiple posts below.

First, the neck being glued up.

The tuners installed.

Now the fretboard is leveled.

Now the frets are installed with a fret press. They are then leveled and crowned.

The nut is glued in.

The bridge is slotted.

The pin holes are drilled.

Default NGD! She is done!

I went over to Larry's this morning to find him waiting with the 12-fret dread stung and ready for its first notes.

I am very pleased...it already sounds great. It is very open and balanced, with great note articulation, particularly for such a large guitar. It's tone is fairly bright, but with more rosewood chime than mahogany woodiness. It does have more bass and depth than what I am hearing on the recording through my computer speakers. Now I need to put some play time into her and get her to come into her basic voice. Time will tell what she will become.

The first notes video follows, along with some pics of the final set up.

Thanks to Larry Nair of Tahoe Guitars for building such a fine sounding a beautiful instrument.

THANK YOU for following this thread.

Click here for first notes video.

I'm a happy camper today...NGD!!!
