It was fun to play tourist this past Sunday afternoon with our very own Wade Miller and his lovely wife. Good times!

My wife and I, two sons, dils & g-kids have been in Barbados, us for a month. What a fabulous island with beautiful people. This pic of my 10 y/o granddaughter, Ellie, a competitive dancer, was taken a few days ago by her Mom.

Very nice! Didn’t know you shoot Sony. Thinking of that new A9III?

Thanks! Nope, the a9iii seems amazing, but I don't need it. AF and burst rate on this are incredible and all I need. I'd prefer an A1 for more resolution and the vague notion that I'd like to get more into video, but it rarely comes up and there's always Topaz Photo AI if I want bigger prints.

Yeah A9II still a killer camera! I’m getting into video and rigging up my A7IV for it. Different animal!

Looks like you're diving into the deep end that external monitor!

It became a must when the little LCD was hard to see on a bright day.

Very affordable and great features!

Yeah, that's much cheaper than I'd have expected! I do have a similar Rhode mic...which I've never really used. I'm just going to stick with my a9ii for a good long while and see if I really use video. I know there are a ton of things which make it better/easier on other cameras, but I can learn a ton just playing with the tools I have. My lenses should be fantastic for video, so I'm in a good spot.

If I ever get serious, the upgrades can come! Have fun shooting...

A bit of birding. This guy here is called Kolea in Hawaiian but it’s better known as the Golden Pacific Plover. I named him Stevie. They’re migratory birds that fly all the way from Alaska or Siberia in the early fall and then fly back in the early summer to breed. They always return to the same spot and I actually photographed him last year at around this same time. He’s in full breeding plumage which means he’s about to go back up north and woo a female and make little Stevies.
