Default Total Solar Eclipse

So who is in the prime viewing path?
Have your welding goggles handy.

I'll be traveling to a site that's right in the path of totality. I've already made arrangements with family who are close to the path. Totality is on my bucket list.

Oregon is really gearing up for the influx of viewers. I guess colleges are even opening their dorms, renting rooms...

Not this time, but I'm not too terribly far away. These are always special events... very cool. Coming from the family of a scientist/amateur astronomer, eclipses were lots of fun for us as kids.

Get out there and watch light get bent. Thank you Albert "E" for proving you can bend light. Ain't it great.

South Carolina is gearing up for an influx of tourists. It'll just be another work day for me.

We are, but unsure of plans.
I mean it is cool and all, but <3 mins total.
Would be a bad time to get diarrhea.

Are you currently afflicted with this syndrome?

Or, is this something that "RUNS" in the family?

Prime viewing spot here. We're expecting between 50k and 500k visitors, depending on whose estimate you believe. Some folks are even planning on climbing to the top of Idaho's tallest peak, Mt Borah, to get a unique view of it.

For real. 1 mile of elevation in 3 1/2 miles of trail. Super cardio work out.

Yes, about 5 years ago when I was a bit lighter.
Didn't do it as a day hike, like some, rather spent the night. So with tent, over night accomodations, etc, my pack probably wheighed north of 45 lbs. It was in June I believe.

The only hike i ever did where i "ran out of water". A very dry trail. I forget, but I probably brought 3-4 qts of water. No streams to pump your own. I was very thirsty when I got back to the car.

You all no doubt know, but make sure your welders goggles are rated 14 or higher.
