Not wearing shirts with that much ink seems counter productive to escape procedure

Good job. Imagine if the homeowner was not armed. Two on one usually ends up bad for the one...unless its a movie. The "equalizer" took care of that probable outcome. Not everyone is a "cowboy". Folks are just looking to defend themselves. Its a lot faster to hit four buttons on a speed safe than dial 911 and wait 2-15min. (depending on location) for help. In thirty seconds the problem can go very bad for you...or them depending on how you perceive things.

Exactly!
The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

I am most thankful that they were captured without anyone else being harmed, though I don't discount the trauma to the elderly couple they held for some three hours. It was they who alerted authorities who were fast closing in. I talked with someone who knew one of the murdered officers and some of the other prisoners who remained on the bus after these two killed and made their escape. He said that their best chance of survival would be to show up unannounced at a busy police station, or perhaps to be arrested by an armed private citizen, which is what happened. He explained that the officers involved in the manhunt would not have acted in vengeance, but knowing full well the level of danger these two represented, would not have hesitated an instant to pull the trigger if they felt even a little threatened. That makes sense to me.

I hope to attend the funeral of one of the slain officers, to be held a couple of miles from my home. My heart and prayers go out to their families, friends, and others in the Georgia Department of Corrections. I'm weird, I know, but my heart and prayers also go out to these two murderers and their families, for reasons we do not discuss here.

Photo taken shortly after officers arrived on the scene, where armed homeowners held the two escapee/murders at gunpoint.

Both leave behind grieving wives and children. They were performing transportation duties, something they had done 3-5 times a week for ten years. Careless complacency may have played a part in their being killed... not that anything justifies the actions of their killers.

These dirtbags have taken the lives of two extraordinary men so they could have a few days on the outside. It wasn't like they killed the officers because it was going secure their lifelong freedom. They knew they'd get caught or shot, it was never gonna be a happy ending for them, and they knew it'd would be fast. And yet it was worth killing two men for.

The young man who called 911 to report these criminals on his property sets the record straight here. As you might have expected, the media's initial reports were not quite right. https://www.facebook.com/fox5atlanta...4632285305823/ I admire his grateful humility. (If someone's expressing Christian faith offends you, you may want to skip this.)
