"Don´t know why" - (Norah Jones) - guitar solo fingerstyle
Hi,
Here is my little arrangement of that wonderful song with interesting harmonies. For the solo I added some extra chords. "Ear-catching" is the sound of Norah Jones recording - it seems she avoided all kind of reverb, in that way producing the athmosphere as if she´s playing in your living room. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBvTCvXK_4g Hope you like it. Many greetings from Stuttgart/Germany Gerhard www.gerhardgschossmann.de |

Wonderful job Gerhard - I love that Norah Jones song. I don't know whats more impressive, your playing skills or your arranging skills. Fantastic.

Wonderful rendition Gerhard, you really know how to make an acoustic fingerstye arrangement come alive.
What A/V equipment are you using? I can see the tip of a mic in your video that actually looks somewhat like an EV dynamic mic (PL 90), but I cannot imagine it is.

Hi SixStingString,
yes, besides special situations, also for me stnadard tuning seems to be the best ways. The last days I saw again some "hitters and knockers" on special tuned guitars.... First Thing, that comes to ear: there is never a melody to be found. Second: in most cases, the players are not able to notably change chords and harmonies, because with the hittings and knockings they need the open strings and so they don´t have much changes to change the harmony, not to talk about a real key-change.... Many greetings Gerhard |
