Default The Hateful 8

No complaints here . Gross in spots, but I expect certain levels of graphic excess from QT . I'm not a fan of gore , but I am a fan of QT, so I abide
The 70 mm was effective inside as well as outside . I don't care what anybody else thinks; he's got some huevos rancheros, and does engaging work.

I haven't been a QT fan but I watched Django Unchained on TV a while ago and was impressed - violence, story-line and humour.

The Hateful 8 looks interesting too, but my ears and cynicism need to recover after sitting through the latest Stray Bores (Star Wars).

Very good movie. Quentin Tararantino does "Clue."

8 might be just the thing to cheer you up . There's torture, verbal abuse , racism , lots of freezing , lots and lots and lots of people in various states of extreme grime and filth . You know , everything that Star Wars was not

Saw it today. Thought it was great! First time I've ever gone to the movies by myself. I was having maintenance done on a car that was going to take as long as a movie. Figured it beats waiting there. Funny thing was I was the ONLY person in the theater. Very fun experience.

There must be two versions of this movie.

The cinematography was really good. Other than that. Meh.

QT gets a lot of love and a lot of hate . I might say there are two kinds of people in the world, but that's stupid So I'll say there are two kinds of QT fans in the world : those that like him and those that don't (not quite as stupid !)

Mmm, "so like the home life of our own dear Queen" (A British joke)

I expect I'll wait for it to come on to TV, or maybe if it comes to the local film club.

We saw Star Wars at a big multiplex - Imax/3d etc, comfortable seats, giant screen, children scampering about - appalling stick of popcorn, and production volume way too loud and still couldn't get half the dialogue. Whilst I took earplugs, my tinnitus still hasn't settled down.

The local film club is a delight - rarely anyone in the audience under 60. They don't eat plastic food, but they allow us to buy wine and beer in the anteroom. It is run by enthusiasts and so you get an A5 sheet of paper with a review and technical details for the film you are going to see.

.
8 is really good on the big screen , and if the 70 mm version is in your town ,
I wouldn't hesitate going . There's even a big color program with a foldout of Michael Madsen looking all bad , and some technical details

But it is loud .

I'll watch it when it hits On Demand. My only concern is that his last several movies have been caricatures of his better, early films. He has lost wry and subtle and gone for silly and stupid.

QT's most formidable asset is Samuel Jackson.

I watched in 70 mm as well. Beautifully shot and some really great acting for the most part. I thought the story was too slow during the first half personally.

You must have misunderstood the post you quoted. He simply said "some love him, some hate him"
