What do these two pics illustrate?
I'm not very aware about electrics in general and I've just picked up a Mitchell guitar from MF for $199 and I noticed two things:
1. That the fretboard didn't sit flush (see below). 2. That the bridge pickup was tilted forward (see below). Do these issues actually matter? The guitar seems to play well, have a decent setup and intonation, etc. I just don't know if these two issues are cosmetic, or if they actually mean something about the guitar. Anyone? |

Those aren't a problem. That fretboard extension is so they can have more frets but not change the neck pocket. And I don't think the humbucker tilting is a big deal.

Like Eric said, no problem on the neck. On that humbucker, it probably can be leveled out, use the height adjustment screws to loosen it up, and press down on it with your fingers - the wires may be under one side unevenly pushing it up like that.

Thanks for the responses. Yeah, I didn't mean to post them full-size.

My Yamaha Revstar 320 had the same issue with the humbucker. I flipped the humbucker bracket around and it solved the problem. I did have to remove the screws holding the humbucker to the bracket and reinstall them to have enough wire and I didn't want to flip that humbucker around and change the sound. Probably wasn't necessary, but it sure looked better and I felt better after it was changed.
