Probably most of about 20 or so.
If I don't play a song most every day, though, I lose it and have to relearn it when I want to play it again.
Sometimes, I forget that I've already learned it; and, I'm surprised at how quickly I pick it up - then I remember that I spent two weeks on it last year, etc.

They come and go but at any one time, I would have about 40-45 instrumental pieces available for a setlist. My playing partner would have the same list and between us, we fiddle around with arrangements.

One....seriously. I've played for more than ten years and yet I think I only know one song front to back the way its supposed to be played.

I have some sort of horrible mental disorder where I learn the part of the song I like and never finish the whole thing...I know the recognizable parts to dozens of songs...

I have a few of my own songs that are more or less whole but really I do so much noodling around....I wish there was a cure for my disease....

200-300 with no prompting... double that with a chart or some lyric help...

I've been playing a LONG time, though - probably only do 50 or 60 tunes in a night's performance, as a solo singer/guitarist...

Why do you ask?

play on................................>

John

Don't do any strictly instrumental tunes at all. So, if I can remember the first line of the lyrics....about 150 from memory. There are quite a few I haven't played/sung for awhile, so it's more like about 100 right now. And trust me, sometimes, depending on the condition my voice is in, that's WAAAAAAAAAY too many.

I'd guess around 140. Of course, about 130 are my own songs. I know maybe 10 cover songs.
