Ha! We are in nearly the same boat. I have the master aux at noon, parameter at 1:00, and channel aux at 10 o'clock. So far it sounds pretty good. Our ears must be working about the same way.

Default First rehearsal with my new pedalboard setup including Soundcraft Notepad 8-FX

You can’t go wrong with a K&K or the Lyric. It’s all about what you hear so your impression is more important than anyone else’s. The conundrum is that all pickups sound are relative to the guitar and installation. Trust your instincts.
