Default Brettster, you're from Austraila, and should no more than us yanks

My Friend Tommy Emmanuel Plays one. .He seems to like it
he plays one with a small body,, even thought there is a Tommy
Emmanuel model , which is a dreadnaught cutaway, he rarely plays any except the 000 style Maton.

They are good guitars,,, i was not moved by them, at least not
enough to want them... Kind of a Australian made takemine
The workmanship was just fair, if i remember correctly,
and i was not that impressed, however i think i played a few
of the cheaper ones.

I kind of respect Tommy E. for endorsing a product of his homeland,,, as it should be IMHO,
Rick

I am probably going to buy a DM next. I have played a lot of $550 guitars, but nothing has touched me the way the DM has. I played D1s, D16s, and neither sounds as good as the DM. Hey Bob T, make a 210 to compete with the DM!!! I would buy it as I love Taylors, but not the 310 and can't afford the 710.

If you read the above links, you know my high opinion of Matons. At this point, I'll just add that I went to see Tommy Emmanuel in San Diego a couple weeks ago, and I took my ECW80C/Bunya for Tommy to sign, which he did.

He played my guitar maybe for five minutes before the show, and he really went nuts over it! I thought to myself "oh sure, he's just being nice," but then I heard from the guy he who was hosting him in town (a prior acquaintence of mine) that he was still carrying on about my guitar back stage.

Suffice it to say they are very nice instruments. They're not like Taylors, but they are every bit as good. People who like Martins and Larrivee's in addition to Taylors, would probably also like a solid-wood Maton.

Good luck,

Kent
