Default stupid Q

Can a passive or active subwoofer, mine is an HSU II, be used as a guitar cabinet speaker, ie to plug an amp into? Could I just plug into the sub in? I know tube amps are dangerous, and with no load you can fry them so I thought i would ask here first!

Most subs wouldn't work well as an only amp. However, if a sub has an internal crossover, it should work as a way to add low wend to an amp. The HSU II looks like it has line level "sub in", plus speaker level inputs, so I don't see why it couldn't work.

That being said, I don't think I'd bother adding a sub to an amp for acoustic guitar, which just doesn't need that much low end. If you're playing full range music or keyboards, it could probably help.

no, I'm playing electric through a reason bambino head, 2-8 amps, and I have no speaker (lol). I will get one someday soon. Thanks, might give it a go. It is a really sweet sub Ive had for years with my surround sound.

If the sub is your only speaker, I would be very surprised if you got a usable sound; there just wouldn't be enough high end.
