lower action on tricone
Hi, new to this forum so hope I'm in the right place. I have a republic tricone resonator that I would like to lower the string action on to make fretting with fingers easier. Thanks!

I don't see any reason not to. I would guess the nut slots are a little high.

I don't have a tricone - just two single cone republics but from what I have been reading from people with tricones needing to lower the action at the saddle as well as the nut, the break angle is involved. Thats the angle from the saddle to the tailpiece if I am not mistaken.
I would call or email Republic and run by them what you need to do and see what they say. You might get another nut from them that you can cut down and preserve the original, in case the unforseen happens. Another thing you can try if you are playing with heavy strings is put lighter ones on them. Good luck, Harriet
