Default Gregg Allman

It seems that Gregg has entered hospice. Sad to hear, the Allman Brothers is still one of my favorite bands and have seen Gregg in concert four times, as recent as last summer.

He will be sorely missed.

Sorry to hear that news. He has one of the best blues voices out there. Saw him live a couple years ago and he could still rock the joint. I could tell he was moving a bit slow, but had not lost anything vocally.

Saw the full Allman Brothers band w/ Dickie and Warren about 20 years ago, (wow, doesn't seem possible it could be that long ago), and it was definitely in my top 5 concert experiences.

Good news, turns out it's an internet rumor:

Second source, unless the manager is the source again.

"Fans of Gregg Allman will be glad to know that according to the rocker's rep, he has not in hospice, as has been rumored.

A message on the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's Facebook page reads, "Hey everyone. I just wanted y’all to know that I’m currently home in Savannah resting on my doctor’s orders. I want to thank you for all the love that you are sending. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Keep Rockin’. “

Rumors that Allman was in hospice circulated on Monday via a radio station report, but Allman's rep tells ABC News that the rumors are not true.

Allman, who is 69, has suffered from ill health in recent years, dealing with a respiratory infection, a hernia, a liver transplant and an irregular heartbeat. In March, he canceled all his tour dates for unnamed "health reasons.""

And I fell for it.

About a month ago, I started a thread about Gregg's having to cancel a series of local concerts and his entire 2017 schedule, according to his web site. http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=463061 Glad to know that hospice is not required. Wishing him, his loved ones, and everyone concerned the very best.

Hear here! I'm glad I sat this one out until more authoritative info emerged. I agree that Gregg's voice is the greatest white blues voice ever. All the best to Gregg.
