Default Ok, admit it...

What gear do you have that you almost never use? I have a Fender Acoustasonic 30 that I'll plug in to maybe 2 or 3 times a year and a L.R. Baggs M1 active that is used even less. Every so often though I will plug in the reso or Gibson and play. The M1 is a little bit of a pain to put in and I don't like the idea of leaving it in all the time.

The more gear you acquire the less you play some of it.

I haven't played my Alvarez Yairi DY-71 in some time, but I'm about to start working up a song that will probably best suit that neck and tone. I may even drop down to 11's for this one tune. I'll probably play my Epi more as I've got it tuned in DADGAD at the moment to work on something.

My electrics have seen very little play since the blues jams all but dried up in my area. Thankfully I have twice monthly acoustic gigs. But even then, I'm only taking one guitar. This week I took my Taylor 614ce, but next week the D-35 will see some action... unless I pick up yet one more acoustic I've had my eye on. Then we're back to "how much gear gets unused".

I have a guitar I bought when I had the chance because I knew I would want it and it's a bit rare, but I haven't seen it in a year because I've been on the road. I think of him often though.

All of the expensive picks I bought. Now I either use my fingers or a cheap heavy celluloid pick.

Funny you should ask...
GUILTY!!

Just last night I dug out an old Toa keyboard amp I haven't used in over ten years.
(it made a great little PA in small venues, two mics two guitars)

And then I looked at the Yamaha fretless bass, and the Cello I thought I'd learn to play,
and the 9 piece Tama Imperial Star drum set and and and...

There's gunna be a housecleaning day of reckoning soon.
Thanks for the nudge.

A nice 12 fret. I just didn't take to it.

Also all my electric gear...but it's not going anywhere.

I have gear set up in two rooms, one of which is my office. A couple guitars are in drop tuning. I rotate around pretty good. But, I don't have as much gear as many on this forum.

I've got 2 small amps that haven't been plugged in in years.

It just became more comfortable to play strictly acoustic for me... no more cables, plugs, etc... Just me and my guitar..

I have a Fishman Aura Spectrum DI that I've used maybe 4 times. My first acoustic guitar after a lifetime of the electric was a Martin 000EC that had a muddy sounding pickup installed. The Aura Spectrum worked it's magic, but I was not playing out of the house acoustically and rarely plug in at home.

Then I sold that Martin and got the D-28. I decided there were too many sonic options with the Aura Spectrum for my simple brain and bought a Fire-eye. And there it sits.

I don't use my practice amp nearly as much as I thought I would.
