Default NGD Rainsong H-WS1000N2

I just bought a used Rainsong Hybrid H-WS1000N2 and I am very pleased with it.
I primarily wanted it to keep in my office, ready for occasions when music is requested (It's a church). My office is a converted room with no direct heating, so I use a window air conditioner when needed and a space heater...neither of which I leave on when not there. The temperature and humidity changes are huge, and other guitars I have kept there have suffered...including all-laminate and even an all-HPL with "stratabond" neck. (That one went wanky in just a month, and I never expected THAT from a build that seems like it should handle the worst.)
Having read some reviews of the hybrids, I found the description of the "mellower" tone appealing - many claim, probably correctly, that the damping effect of the glass fibers make it seem more "woody" in tone. I just know that I loved the tone immediately, and was really pleased with the volume (being a dread lover, this speaks to me). What is especially nice is the balance between the frequencies, and the playability (with a slight lowering of the saddle.)
I am confident it will be comfortable in my office....if I can bring myself to leave it there! I have also decided, with ease, that this will be my gigging guitar.

Congrats on the new to you Rainsong, cc407. FYI, the hybrid models are extremely popular, not just because of the lower price, but because of the tone. I actually tend to recommend them to folks who have never played a Carbon Fiber guitar because of its more mellow voice.

Use it in good health.

Congrats! That will handle the temp/humidity changes and continue to sound great. Good on you for taking that step. Enjoy!

Nice purchase, I love my H-WS1000, I've only tried the Elixir nano lights with great results, but being a TI fan, I'll give them a try next time. Thanks dadio.

An excellent choice! It's a relief to not have to worry about humidity or temperature!

I had a Rainsong Dread myself that served me very well. The nut width ultimately made me sell it, though. It's practically impervious to weather conditions. You'll love it.

Though this shipped to me from a GC I think it was first sold through your store...your business card is in the case pocket!

Congratulations! I love my H-WS. After trying several string types, I settled on Martin Monels. If you choose to try them, give them a while to settle in. Enjoy!

Thanks for the replies....bottom line for me is this: I finally brought it to my office... and then thought about it all the time I wasn't there. I like it too much to leave it where it is just "on stand-by". I had to bring it home because it just jumped into being my main guitar and I want it to be at my side ALL the time. I can bring it there when I need to...it's just too good to be hanging on a wall where it only gets occasional play. I have a cheap ukulele that can satisfy that slot. So after 47 years of wood guitar love, I have found unexpected bliss with a carbon/glass fiber guitar.

That is what happens once you cross over to CF guitars and have the opportunity to have it out all the time. I have my JM1000/3000 in my home office... my parlor keeps me company in my bedroom and an outdoor tenor uke in my office at work which always gets a workout from my engineering team... :-).

Thinking of getting a shorty for the living room.... it is quite addictive....:-)
