Wow, I'm so sorry for your loss. No, your situation doesn't sound weird at all to me. You don't want your loved one to pass without trying to say something but it is so tough to speak about him or her when the loss is so recent. I lost my dad a year ago and had to speak at the service less than a week later. It was tough but I made it through. I don't think I could do that with my wife.

You'll be in my prayers. PM if you need to talk.

Bob

My condolences. I think what you're doing is a good thing. I'm still a number of years away from being able to wrap my head around a situation like that but, despite having a knack for public speaking, I know I would likely struggle in that specific kind of situation. It's good that you found a way that you can pay your respects and share some words at the service.
All the best to you.

I'm very sorry for your loss, and think what you are doing is perfect.

I talk for a living, so I get called on at times like this, and it is very hard. I totally support the way you are handling it.

Our neighbor and friend passed this afternoon after a similar struggle. She was younger than us, and didn't get to see her kids get married or any of that other stuff we too often take for granted. I'm touched by how you are handling this, and will remember you as I remember her and her family.

I do recall your finding Reaper for your project and the early EXTREMEMLY well written accounts you provided with the learning curve. Very sorry to hear of your loss, but certainly glad that you found a way forward for your wife with this unique approach. Having to speak live when such emotion is upon you is a tough thing.
I recall my minister losing his wife very early from cancer.....he, who was a marvel of easy public speaking, emotion, humor and wit on his feet, confided that he didn't know if he could speak at her service.
Your approach will ease your burden.......my sincerest condolences.

I am very sorry for your loss. The time you have taken, and your thoughtfulness
in the arrangements you have made, will be a comfort to Friends and Relatives.

So sorry for your loss. My wife went through cancer treatment all last year, but is doing quite well.

Similar "weird" application: I wrote her a song for our anniversary, but knew I would have trouble getting through it "live". After several tries (Zoom H4n), finally got a clean one, stuck it on an MP3 player, put some headphones on her and let her listen. Her smile and tears told me she enjoyed the gift.
