Here's two different very natural sounding amps that I put together for about $1,000 - $1,200 each:

Hi ljguitar,

I cannot find any new Ultrasound AG50's for sale. Maybe this model was discontinued, and if so, what Ultrasound model may be comparable?

Thanks.

The AER may seem expensive but it is a very good investment. Should last year's.

I have the Acoustic Solutions 150 by Godin. It was $1000.

It satisfies the needs of my duo, weighs about 30# and is attractive to look at.

My only complaint is the lack of documentation on the right different effects settings - it's trial and error to figure what is what . (I usually pick #3)

I also have a fishman loud box mini that is a great little amp for little amp suitable situations . (Home, small rooms, one player) $350

Looking back , if I had it to do over I would have skipped the fishman and just gotten the bigger one that gives me flexibility in use.

Acus One 6 Fourstring acoustic amp is a !ovely small amp . Though the reverb is very basic .I use the Boss VE 20 Voice Proccesser . You can dial in some beautiful hall reverb.
Plus for the size , it only has a 6 inch woofer .
Surprisingly it has some nice bottom end.

Worth considering.

Yes your right Andy the AER does win hands down. I love the compression/ limiters on the AER .It gives everything a real tight sound .

I played an open mic last night that was a bit odd. Vocals were channelled through a Bose but they plugged my guitar into an AER. The AER was set up astonishingly badly. I was kind of speechless. You have to work really hard to make this sound horrible. I think it was set with thr EQ expectionally bright, but ten eamp was also sitting on a floor behind all kinds of other obstacles.

I can honestly say they this is the first time I've heard bad sound from them!
