Gluing the bridge on today. Strings tomorrow. Most people think of ebony as not having a grain pattern but when you really polish it (and wear your high power reading glasses), it's beautiful.

Chasson, great inlay work. How did you do it, with string inlay tools? I'm inspired to try this myself on my current parlor build.

I'm not really an inlay artist so I had to figure this out as I went. In fact, I had to google "string inlay tools". But yes, I did do the center line of the rosette with a circle cutting tool I made that is pretty much the same as a string inlay tool. See post #10 on page 1.

Most of the straight lines on the peghead and fretboard were cut on my mini pin router with a .023" fret slotting bit. It went surprisingly smoothly but I did go through a few bits. Doing it by hand could certainly work but it would be a lot more difficult to do all the short lines and end them cleanly. Good luck with your parlor.
