Is my side wood solid or laminate?
Hi all:
I just need some confirmation on whether my current guitar's side wood is laminate or all solid, cos I can't really seem to tell very well. My guitar has a spruce top with ovangkol sides. Thank you very much! (Sorry for the large photos!)

I'd be more concerned about it having a honkin' big hole in it!
Looks like a laminate or veneer to me, as I don't see any end grain matching the grain pattern, although it's tough to see in the pics. If it's a known manufacturer, you might give the model # and it might be possible to look up the specs.

Just from photo number one I am sure it is solid wood, although it looks like that cut out has been burnt in, I am pretty sure that is end grain right across the cut and in the bottom corner it looks like continuous long grain no glue.
