I agree with the rest. Take this to a pro.

Your first description sounded almost like the top on an unbound guitar (like a baby taylor) coming loose. These aren't hard to stick back together.

But the repair you have here is the sort that looks deceptively easy.

It's the sort that can end up leaving a big mess or a larger damage if not handled correctly.

For example - the wood binding and wood purfling is quite fragile. It can crack or break off leaving a big ugly spot.

Glue can leave discolored lines or blobs.

Uneven clamping can leave ripples or large gaps.

It looks like the top has delaminated and separated and the binding has come off.

This would move it out of the "minor repair" category for me.
