Thanks James and Tom. I actually settled with an option between the larger and OM size tear drops. I wanted a slightly extended OM sized one since I strum over the middle of the soundhole, so Drew came up with something in between but leaning more toward the OM size. I'll post a pic when Drew cuts it this week!

Final pickguard shaped here. It's not glued on yet, but came it pretty nice in my view.

And now the pickguard glued on. It's barely visible:

Delivery of both case and guitar are happening next week.

Will post studio shots once I get them!

Here are some studio shots from Drew:

Edited post to trim down the number of photos! (Sorry, got too excited)

Also totally cool with people downloading the photos from the Photobucket album to use for whatever purpose: nice wallpaper, mockups of your own Olson-esque guitars, etc.

Glad you went with the simpler pickguard. The Taylor-style guards are, IMO, always a slight detraction, drawing way too much attention to a piece of plastic. While you clearly had a blast tweaking the various visuals on what is a personal guitar, what I find most impressive in this excellent thread is the quality of the woodwork, which is where the voice of the guitar will live. I don't care about matched abalone or end wedge coloration (for ex., I would definitely have stayed with the same RW as the back and sides; less is more) what freaking blows me away is the cleanness of the cuts, inside and out, and the precision of the wooden parts. While the ornamentation skills are clearly stunning, too, none of that makes the guitar sing, so what excites me big time are the images of the basic construction, which appears phenomenally well designed and executed. Great! And thanks for posting!

You're welcome and also thank you for the thought here. I agree that Drew's build is second to none. His construction seems spot on in every aspect. And I agree that this is what makes the guitar sing--which it does.

After 2 days, it's loosening up nicely. (Kind of makes me wish I had a Tone-rite to help it break in faster!)

Posted some outdoor shots on the NGD thread: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...=474129&page=2 (And some of you who have been following closely may note that I put the bone bridge pins--just seeing their effect on tone versus the buffalo horn, which I definitely prefer visually)

Just one here as a teaser.
