Short Scale 6 String Plans
I'm interested in building a short scale six string solid body electric guitar something in the 20 to 21 1/2 inch range. I would appreciate any information about where I could acquire a detailed set of plans for an instrument of that type. Thanks in advance. Will

LMII sells a small guitar that's approximately a Martin size 5, with a 21.4" scale length.
You could mod it to be solidbody..... Http://www.LMII.com |

Yes - a Size 5 is the typical "Terz" guitar with a 20-22" scale.. Plans and info are available.
Another good option is to use the shape/pattern off of an old Stella/Harmony 3/4 size. The body is 17 1/2" long and 14" wide. 23" scale. 12 frets to the body. Strung with medium strings - they feel like a "normal" guitar strung with light strings. Extremely comfortable to play on the couch. |

Thanks for the replies! Anybody know where I could get plans for a "Rick" type 325?

Missed the part about a small electric guitar.....
Honestly I am not too familiar with them.. Have you checked out the guitar building forums that predominately feature electrics like project guitar and tdpri? |

DIY
For an electric build, I'd say design it yourself. Start with your scale length and then draw your body around it. That's the benefit of building your own.
