Default K&K pure preamp - do you hang it on your belt?

Hi All,

I've done a search but can't really find an answer to this question...

I've always played guitars with onboard preamps but am thinking of getting a guitar and installing a K&K PWM pickup. I'd like to get a K&K pure preamp as well and notice that they are described as "belt-clip" preamps.

So, being a bit clueless as to all this, my question is do you actually attach them to your belt and then get the shortest lead you can to go from the jack to it? If so, is it comfortable or do people find it annoying and restrictive (particularly if you play mostly sitting down)?

Thanks for any advice

Cheers

Berf

Im not currently using it but when I was I did belt clip it. I never had any issues with it getting in my way.....

I always sit to play and place it on the ground/floor at the mic stand. Been doing that for years.

Under my chair if sitting.

On small shelf on mike stand if playing stood up.

Sometimes I do ... I use a 24" cable when I do. I prefer it on the floor when I'm sitting down, less chance to yank a cable out, in which case I use a 6' cable.

I use a Levi's leather strap that has the multiple slots for the adjustable part... I just hang the Pure pre from the last slot on the strap. 18" patch cable from the guitar to the pre, then instrument cable from the pre to the board.
