Default 000x1ae vs omxae

Hi all,

I'm looking for some guidance on my next guitar purchase.

I am planning on buying either a Martin 000x1ae or omxae.

I like the om more in terms of nut width and looks, but I know the 000 has a solid top. Will this affect the tone enough that a guy will regret it in a few years?

Thanks!

And also what is the 00LXAE. What does the L stand for? Not, on this occasion, left-handed. (They all have solid tops though, don't they?)

New model is 00lx1ae and does have a solid top. I think the "L" refers to the more rounded shoulders of the body versus traditional 00 body shape.

The top is the most significant contributor to sound so they will be different. I always thought the HPL topped guitars were a bit boxy and all the solid tops sound pretty good.
