The fact that this strange thread is now 13 pages long should tell us something about ourselves. I'm not sure what though.

Those who are not using this thread as a post count builder (Is that a real thing?) may feel defensive about their favorite forum being labeled as negative. Others may feel that it's a free shot to say something not-nice...

It tells us that people have a lot of feelings and opinions about goodbyes. Some people like 'em, some don't. Some people say goodbye, others just disappear. But goodbyes are generally a Big Deal.

IMO, that is what the thread tells us. But maybe it doesn't tell us anything other than some folks like to come to AGF and make create posts.
