Default Incoming NGD!

Well today I ordered a new Ibanez AS153 antique yellow which would arrive in about 5-6 weeks’ time when the new batch arrives in Sweden. I was really looking forward to it, having played an AS53 about three weeks ago and loved the way it felt in my hands etc.

On my way home a friend of mine sent me a text. A music store was clearing some ex-demo gear and he noticed something that thought might interest me seeing as he and I are more or less on the same page guitar-wise.

To cut a long story short, I will be cancelling the order for the Ibanez tomorrow and in the next few days will take delivery of a NOS ex-demo wine red Gibson ES-335 studio. I am almost afraid to post the price until I have the guitar in my hands but it is basically only 1800 Swedish crowns (maybe $200) more than the Ibanez and within the budget (just) that I have!

I know pics or it didn’t happen and I will post as soon as it arrives. Once I have found a photo hosting service that is free or at least reasonable.

https://picr.de/

press the "Durchsuchen" button on the left side of the screen at first,
to get into your computer files.
double click onto the picture, you want to upload.
you may upload more than one picture at once.
then press "upload starten" on the lower left side of the screen,
then copy and paste the image link, that is presented with the next
uploading page.

you can give it a try with a catalogue pic from that guitar,
while we wait for the real pics.

good luck with you new guitar then.

Sweet! Congrats Pieter, I'm happy for you. There's been some discussion here on the AGF about the Gibson ES-335 Studio and it's a winner for sure. I was meaning to try it out at the store this past week-end but I didn't make it.

Looking forward to your review.

Let's hope it doesn't sit in a cold truck for a few days.

No worries about that, it arrived yesterday!

Excellent condition for an ex-demo guitar, a little wear and tear, the equivalent of maybe two or three serious gigs. Plays nicely and sounds great.

I’ll get a new picture hosting service up and running and start a new thread with some pics!

That's great news. I like some wear and tear if it lowers the price of the guitar and it doesn't impact it being structurally sound.
