Default Orange CA

Any suggestions of good/interesting gigs and guitar stores around Orange?
I'll be staying near Chapman university for a few days with no car.

Thank you!

Not really up on the Orange stores nowadays... possibly Jim's House of Music? I know there is a guy who is a BRILLIANT guitar tech in and around Orange; bit of a recluse and hard to get in his schedule, but he's the best, so...

As far as gigs go, The Blue Water Grill (?) has combos and bands... and the 17th St. Bar and Grill (just on the other side of the 17th St./55 Freeway... I bet there are more and if you find any, let me know! I was raised in Orange County and go back occasionally to visit my brother; always good to know another place to hear/play music!

Steev:

Jseth is right. Jim's Music is the closest decent guitar shop to Chapman, but you'll still a car to get there. Your best option is to get an Uber to take you there.

If willing to travel farther, The Guitar Shoppe in Laguna Beach, is another great place. It is on the coast, so you could spend a few hours tanning yourself on the beach and visiting art galleries, which they are famous for. It is a haven for artists.

Good luck.

Absolutely a big PLUS for the Guitar Shoppe on Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna... that was actually the first place I was going to suggest, but you mentioned no car...

The Guitar Shoppe is home to TWO stellar acoustic guitar luthiers, Mark Angus and Kirk Sand... they have a great selection of acoustics and electrics and such... if you can, get down there for a day and enjoy the sun, the beach, the food and a great guitar store!
