Default "It's all over now..."

Saw my last client at 9:30am - spent most of the rest of the day moving personal stuff out of the studio, then this evening getting the equipment out - buyer coming back in the morning for the last two pieces.

It all seems a little surreal....45 years just about right now. A few months each in a shoe and hardware store, 7.5 years at the record store and 37 years in the fitness business.

Lots of great memories and hopefully some new adventures coming.

How did I get this old??

Good for you.

I’m approaching 4 years since hanging up the gavel, and it’s seriously the best job I’ve never had

It’s been a bit bumpy, for reasons I won’t go into here, but I wouldn’t change a thing.

I’m also mindful that I worked hard for over 40 years to get to this place, so I’m grateful for everything that helped bring me to this stage of life.

Play on!

Congrats!

I'm in my second month of full retirement and I can't stop thinking about all the things I don't have to do,

Many congrats, Todd!! Retirement is a good gig, and I know many here on AGF will be happy for you!

I'm sure you'll look back, as I do after a bunch of retirement years and wonder "how'd I do all that?" I think it's a very natural realization of the power of the younger years and the focus that creates in finally arriving at that retirement goal. Wishing you much happiness and new adventures!!!

Had that exact conversation with the guy who bought all my equipment. Specifically in regards to keeping the business running while living with and taking care of both of my parents during a pandemic when a flood took out my business - sheesh, that was enough right there!

As my Gramps used to say - "let's not do that D___N thing again"

Congratulations! I am right at 4 years into it and have become very good at it. It was weird at first, not so much the change in routine (I had knee replacement surgery and just retired instead of going back), but I hadn't a clue of how much of my identity I subconsciously related to my long career in my field.

But I adjusted pretty quickly and leaned on into the next chapter of who I am, and am extremely pleased with it.

Congrats Todd. Hope you enjoy a long healthy and joyous retirement. I’m right behind you retiring the end of June.
