SOLVED! Help in identifying this classical guitar
Hi Acoustic Fellas,
I bought this guitar today at a flea market for 50 euros. She needs new strings . A solid top for sure but no brand inside. Just an right digit serial number on the headblock Can anyone help me find out what type/model this classical guitar is? Thanks! From the shape of the headstock, rosette patterns, the machine heads and number of digits in the serial number, I suspect it might be some sort of Takamine, similar to the 132 series, built in 1980. Just a guess.

I agree. It looks very much like my Takamine C128, which I bought new in about 1983.

Thanks for your feedback, i'm still investigating though because the lower part of the headstock (just above the nut) has a square design and not rounded as in many takamine models of those years.
And by the way, the tone is very balanced and she resonates like an all solid wood guitar.... Still looking, every guess/hint is very welcome! Cheers

The rosette design and appearance screams Takamine to me.
I'm confused by the lack of a label inside the guitar and missing logo on the front of the headstock. FWIW- I thought that Takamine typically had their serial numbers inside the guitars and not on the headstock.

My guess is even less precise than Takamine but I would say it was of Japanese make. Just out of interest, are there any markings on the neck block inside the body?

Hi Mr. Scott... yes the neck block (headblock) inside contains an 8 digit serial number. Thanks

Hi all, after a bit of a cleanup and restringing some more pictures, i still haven't found the brand/model . The woodgrain on the inside matches the outside. So back and sides are either a high quality laminate or solid wood. Cheers all.

As I indicated earlier, the rosette design with matching design on the plate on the bridge all scream to me that it is a Takamine classical guitar.
But the shape of the headstock doesn't match what I am accustomed to from Takamine. My hunch is that it is a fairly new guitar such as; 2000 or newer. But that hunch is only based by the online guides to Takamine serial #'s. Whatever it is, its a nice guitar... Enjoy!!!

Similar to my Takamine 132s
Every part of this guitar, even the tuners, is identical to my '91 Takamine 132s, with he exception of the portion of the cutouts on the headstock just above the nut. Mine has a rounded bottom rather than the squared off cutout on the pictured guitar. Even the serial number on the inside is in the same place and of a similar font. It's either a remarkably good copy, or someone at Takamine shaped the cutout differently in the '90's than they had been in the '80's. Of course, mine does have an interior label, but I suppose that could have fallen out due to dried glue.
