Looks like you hit most of them already, surprised no one mentioned
Jason Statham. All of his movies are great!

Man... there are so many of them! However, there are some actors whom you just can't take your eyes off because you never know what they're going to do next: people like Marlon Brando (in his best roles), Paul Newman, James Dean, Peter O'Toole. Then there are those actresses who dominate every scene they're in: like Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, etc. Watch old Greta Garbo pictures -- she says everything through her eyes.
Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci are full of restrained energy... you just never know when or how it's going to explode. People like Spencer Tracy, Robert Duvall, Alec Guinness and Anthony Hopkins are able to immerse themselves in their characters so deeply that everything seemed so effortless and natural. Richard Burton had the most astonishing voice ever heard. Orson Welles taught everybody how to phrase. Brigitte Bardot just oozed pure sensuality. Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn defined glamour. James Cagney was the ultimate tough guy.
Christopher Walken is just unique.
I could go on and on...

I really don't have a favorite. There are plenty of actors/actresses I like though ... I like Matt Damon in those Bourne movies. Morgan Freeman too.

Kate Blanchett, Merryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Paul Giamatti. Probably some others that I can't think of right now.

Having done some acting, I know some actors. No big names, but big talents. My favorite ones are those who realize that acting, real acting is controlling the exterior. Consequently I am not a fan of method actors.

I also admire actors who are not afraid to do what actors are supposed to do - pretend to be someone else. So those who are concerned that they'll look bad on stage are missing something in my estimation.

This quote has been attributed to many, but that makes it no less true: "The most important thing about acting is sincerity. If you can fake that, you've got it made."

Edward Woodward. No film can be bad while he is on the screen. "Breaker Morant" demonstrates how you can be a poet and a bad*ss as well:

Every time I fire my old Enfield carbine, I think of Woodward.

My favorite American actor is William Holden. You never see him mentioned, but he was one of those guys who did it without making it look obvious.

I don't know if I don't watch closely enough, but I see very few bad actors/actresses. Sometimes the material they're acting from, now to me, that's a different story altogether!

Is it simply the passage of time in that He who used to be held up as a paragon of great acting -Sir Laurence Olivier- hasn't yet been mentioned? I'll admit he's not my cup of tea, but he is pretty good.

And Long Jon, Edward Woodward has four "D's" in his name because in my opine, he's that d*mned good!

Regards!
