This very well could have been one of the shippers, or customs as mentioned...
I had a guitar arrive to me that I had bought from a trusted retailer that I had bought many guitars from before. When it arrived, the box had been wrapped at the end sloppy style with packing tape, the key to the case was loose and bouncing around in the headstock section, there were scratches all over the top, and worst... the headstock was broken off. I think that sometimes shippers have a little fun at our expense when they realize its a musical instrument. And I can see where this could easily destroy the relationship between buyer and seller, which is a real shame, as they are both victims. Has a claim been made with USPS for the damage, per chance?

I didn't know that John Kinnard was building ukes. I don't play ukulele, nor own one, but just visited the Kinnard Ukes site and saw the cocobolo/bearclaw sitka tenor available for sale.
I now want to play ukulele, and own one. That one. |
