Default NGD! Used Eastman E8-D!!

I have a OOO-1 mahogany Martin and was looking for a dred - heard a lot about Eastman guitars from this forum - went ahead and bought this without ever even trying or seeing an Eastman!!!
I could not be happier with this guitar. It is an exquisite monster! Big tight bass, beautiful rosewood shimmer, insane overtones, and great sustain. I can see why people have been raving about these guitars. It is beautifully made with a great sound. Previous owner only had it for 3 months so it is still very new. Looking forward to my journey with this instrument - thanks to all who contributed their eastman experiences here on the forum!

Here is a link if you want to hear it - not the best mic and no pre amps but you can still get a sense of the tone of the instrument.

Congrats! She's a beauty Raj, and you make her sound great! I have your guitar's little brother, the E8 OM, and I can't say enough good things about this guitar. I just can't make it sound as good as yours.

Makes me long for the Eastman E8D that I previously owned. The Eastman drreads are pretty great and as you can see, just darn pretty....

My local guitar store has one of these in stock and I gave it a try. It's a very nice guitar--I'm always impressed by the Eastmans I play.

Congrats on your new guitar!

great choice Rajman, I played the 'E' series in '10 and have been singing their praises since, I thought if I needed an other guitar (which I don't) it would be one of these.
Good instruments.

I could search I suppose but where's the fun in that?
What's the 8? (E8D) as opposed to the E10D and E20D?
Where the 10 is hog and the 20 is rw...oh I know...is the 8...oh yeah after another look...the 8 is a sitka top where the 10 and 20 are adi? If that's adi on this 8 it's some very very tight grained adirondack Spruce.
Must be Sitka on the 8s?
How much less $ is a Sitka topped rosewood Eastman dread (the E8d?) compared to the adi topped E20D?

Nice guitar. Congrats.

Correct: Eastman E series with Sitka tops are designated 6 (mahogany) or 8 (rosewood). The Adi tops are 10 (hog) or 20 (RW). I have an E8om and absolutely love it. Don't know how Eastman does it, but their Sitka models don't seem to yield much sonically to their Adi brothers. Rajman's dread seems to bear this out. Beautiful sounds there, sir! Enjoy the guitar.
