That's a great question, HHP. One I never thought of nor do I have any idea.

I hope he blows it on women, liquor, and luxury goods. Redistribution, you know.

Exactly right! How about if I make it my business if any of you actually earn what you make.

How about some of these athletes and Hollywood types; playing games and play acting. As little respect as I have for many of them, they are fully entitled to what the free market pays.

Perhaps he could speak to Dennis Kozlowski regarding some luxury items, such as $6000 shower curtain. .

I think you make too much money, and you also don't give enough back, either. See how easy it is to judge others?

For the record...no one is preventing you from earning $84 million and giving it all to charity.

Most of them are... otherwise they wouldn't have enough tax write-offs!

But seriously, I have nothing against this. If Microsoft's board decides to pay him that, so be it. When George Soros makes billions a year shorting world currency (including ours) I don't hear any uproar. There wasn't much uproar when Home Depot canned Richard Nardelli and gave him a $225M golden parachute... Maybe if WinBlows8 was a bit better this wouldn't be such a big deal.

Why can't a job be worth $84 million a year?

Why it relevant that other people may be capable of doing the same job if the people that hired him determined him, and him alone to be worth what they are paying? That's how supply and demand works...they were willing to pay $84 million for what he had to offer.

i'll just say that i believe that all people should be paid fairly for their work, and leave it at that.
