Default Using a capo to make string changes easier...

I just uploaded this video demonstrating how you can use a capo to make string changes easier, especially on a classical.

Same principle will work on a mandolin or banjo with looped end strings that want to slide off their posts while you are working on the tuning peg end of the string. May come in handy for changing strings on a slot head as well.

I've done it many times. Someone gave me that tip years ago and I've been doing it ever since.

I do this sometimes, too.

One other thing I do very differently is that I install all the strings in the bridge first, then I rach in the sound hole and make sure the ball ends are well seated. I piut the ends of the strings in a piece of foam like a pincushions so the dont flop around, scratching things.

This method also works great on archtops with tailpieces that are "groove on the bottom" as opposed to "string through the hole" style.

It's the only reason why I haven't thrown out my Kysers.
