Shape question...
I'm looking at C-A-G-E-D shapes and can't see why they are named those shapes.
I was expecting to see a C on C shape and so on...

Those are minor pentatonic patterns, not the clearest to see the "CAGED" if you're thinking about major chords...

Ah I see.
Only looking at the notes that make the chord makes it easier to visualize. Need to get my head in the theory more. Thanks.
