Default 2006 Takamine Limited Edition - NEW PRICE DROP 3-12-24 - $1,200

I currently have several Taks and other guitars up for sale (including a 2005 Limited) as I try to thin out what I have in my stable. The Takamine Limited tend to be rarer than hen's teeth due to the low number that were produced and sold. This one is no exception.

I have to say that Takamine has made some beautiful and remarkable Limited Edition guitars over the years. I find this one quite striking with it's gorgeous rosette design and the Knot of Life inlay on the 12th fret. Both the rosette and the 12 fret inlay have cocobolo and Koa inlays, and the rosette also has abalone and lapis stone accents. According to the information on the website, it is a representation of the elements of the earth: air, fire, water, and earth. They call it a Tibetan tantric design.

The guitar is in pretty excellent condition, but has a few small bumps and scratches but not particularly noticeable unless you're looking for them. There is some fret wear, primarily on the B string from the 1st fret up to around the 7th or 8th fret, but gradually gets less on each fret up to that point as you go up. There are some minor ones on the high E string at fret 1 and 2. The guitar does not buzz or fret out anywhere. It came equipped with the Takamine CTP-1 Cool Tube preamp for great plugged in sound.

The top is a nicely time darkened (now amber color) solid spruce top. The back and sides are really nice East Indian Rosewood and the back looks to be nicely quartered. The guitar came with an original Takamine hardshell case.
Takamine has had it going on for years with their fine acoustic/electric guitars. While the higher end ones like the Pro Series, Limited Editions, etc. are truly remarkable, even some of the more economically priced versions like the G Series are a great value.
I've now owned a number of Takamine's, and I really find them to be great bang for the buck. There is a reason that many professional players use Takamine's for live performances, including The Eagles, Bruce Springsteen, Garth Brooks, Jon Bon Jovi, etc.

Here are some pics I took after taking all of the strings off, polishing the frets, oiling the fretboard, restringing, and giving her a nice polish up. I think she's a beauty!! Reason for selling is thinning my herd. PM me for more info or photos. Thanks for looking!

LAST CHANCE - NOW $1,200 plus shipping. Can't go any lower on this one.

Hey there Ron,

Yeah, it is a very cool guitar, thanks.

I would describe the neck profile as a comfortable C shape. I have neither large nor small hands and it feels great to me. Let me know if you need any other information.

Jim
