Played the 0 and the 000 yesterday at the store and man are these little guitars cool. Only $229.00--laminate mahogany back and sides

Glad to see they are hitting the stores. Looking forward to checking them out myself.

Great news. In my backwaters area the local Guitar Center just got in a Yamaha FG800. That's all. So I will probably have towait a long time to test one out but I'm looking forward to it because I think my next guitar will either be a Yamaha FG800 or FG 830 or that Recording King EZ Plus dread.

I played all three versions and was blown away, they do make one with solid mahogany back and sides as well. Have no idea on the price of those, but I am aching for either the 0 or the 000, superb tone and striking spruce tops.

Great for you! I'm 0 for 2016 down here (or up here?). I sent an email to Recording King asking when they think the models will be more or less nationally available because I sure can't find them online at the big box dealers. They were introduced at NAMM in late January and now more than three months later they still are not widely available. I do know there is always a lag between the introduction of guitar models and their general availability but I thought they would be more widely available by now.

I'm not in the market but I just did a search and it appears Reverb has one available:

https://reverb.com/item/1795510-reco...us-dreadnought

And I see they also offer a "mini" dread version of the EZ Tone guitar:

I did see those but I really don't want to order an online guitar that I know nothing about, have never seen in person and have not read any independent reviews.

I did order one guitar that way ... but only after I read about 50 online reviews of it by actual owners, including many here at AGF. (So, thank you folks for that insight)

Bit of an update. Over the weekend I wrote Recording King asking when they thought the EZ Tone and EZ Tone Plus would be more widely available. I got this answer today:

They will be available in the next few months. They are extremely popular and on back order. We appreciate your patience in this matter.

I also asked a Musicians Friend customer service rep if he had any info on it and he couldn't find any info about pending orders or anything.

So I guess I will have to wait for a "few months" unless I gamble on one of the smaller stores, but I certainly would like to be able to play one ... or see one first.

Might want to check with your sales guy at Sweetwater too. They often get an early jump on new model guitars.

I'm still loving my RO-10 all solid 000.
A big shout out for Elderlys!
They show these new models as "coming soon".

After playing all three I would recommend you order one sight unseen- they are super cool for $230.00 w/ gig bag. I am getting the 000 soon

I really am more interested in the Plus series with the solid back and sides. I already own a couple Alvarezes with laminated back and sides (one rosewood, one maple) so for $60 more I think it may be worth it.

There is a store about 150 miles from me that has (or had) some of the models you are looking at in stock so it would be possible for me to take a drive for a test drive of the guitars. But that's an awful far way to go just to test out a guitar that I have no plans to buy really.

Sorry, forgot something very important. The Plus has bone nut and saddle while the others have plastic. That alone is worth more than the $60 increase so while the EZ Tone seems to be a great value (at least on paper) the Plus is a huge bargain (again, on paper.)

Just been looking for any news of these Eztone guitars. Thomann have them on their site but only preorders. They are priced at less than £220 at the moment. But who knows what they will cost if we leave the EU and the pound drops in value. On that thought it may be wise for all in the UK who are thinking of buying USA made guitars to get them ordered now. They could cost far more in a few months.
