Good lookin pup. If he's anything like our new Lab mix pup, prepare for chewa-palosa. Retrievers are very "mouthy" dogs. Their idea of affection is chewing on you. And of course anything else in sight. And those little teeth are like needles.

I used to sit for a lab whose owner bought TV remote controls by the dozen because the dog liked to chew them so much.

When found with a remote in her mouth, she would give me that famous "what?" look for a few minutes, and then slowly open her mouth and let the remote fall to the floor, after which she would slink into her cage with the most hang-dog of looks.

She liked to chew rocks also.

THey are wonderful dogs with a playful spirit their entire lives!

have fun

+1 on the Awwww! Yeah, I own a large and small animal feed store. The chewing phase will last you a good 18 months but chewing is one of those natural canine activities that they should always be allowed to engage in like exercise. Best of luck, what a cutie!

Good looking puppy. That mix should make for a great pet and companion.

Thanks all. W had at one time 2 Golden Retrievers and 2 mixed Terriers. We got down to last dog standing which was ok with me. I was thinking about repainting the front porch. Growing grass in the yard......
Daisy, our old gal seemed fine for months since her sister passing.
Lately she's been acting fidgety. I think I whispered 4 rooms from the wife and kids "maybe we need another dog" ,,,, with great speed they formed a mission control with more computer power than all NASA missions combined.
Didn't take long for the data to be gathered and settle on Teddy.
Btw German Shepherd is in the mix also.
You ain't kidding about puppy teeth!

Great looking puppy.

Interesting to see how his temperament will turn out. I love my Great Pyr's "too cool to get excited but I'll protect this property to the death" attitude vs the retriever's "Let's play fetch." demeanor.

Holy crap, the size of the feet on that thing! Start looking for second jobs now to keep him fed when he gets grown. He's going to be a beauty.

I had a golden retriever I raised from a pup, looked kinda like Teddy.

One day way back in the 90's "Doc" ate half a bag of double-Dursban insect poison, never acted out of the ordinary at all. The next-door neighbor's lab ate a couple of spoonfulls and was sick as a dog for a couple of days.

Doc was a monster, weighed 120 lbs, had an intimidating voice, used to chew on mesquite sticks for a hobby.

I love him. They do chew tho. A friend was making a black powder shotgun and his retriever chewed the fancy walnut stock blank. He said it was part beaver! And BTW, ARE YOU CRAZY, GET THAT PUPPY INDOORS BEFORE IT FREEZES TO DEATH!!!
