My singing partner spent the weekend at the People’s Music Network conference in SW MA. (He flew there Fri.--Madison, WI-O’Hare-Pilgrim and then rented a car (NOT an AWD). Sure hope he flew back home LAST night, otherwise he’ll be stuck in New England for awhile. (Last time he went, he drove from Madison--which is why this time he flew).

Never thought Chicago would seem practically subtropical by comparison. We got so much snow here today that I had to brush it off the grill first before cooking dinner, and divert some of my salt to my deck.

Seriously, folks, be safe--and DON’T try to shovel if you’re over “a certain age.” We finally found someone young and able-bodied to do it for us.

Good luck to all of you facing the snowstorm in the Northeast. Thus far, we have had a mild winter along the Lake Michigan coast. Nothing like last winter.

Been watching CNN all night, and so far as of 9:22PM, it doesn't look bad at all in NYC. They have the reporters out on the streets, and you can barely see any snow falling at all. Even the streets look absolutely fine. I guess they cancelled all the broadway shows, but unless it picks up, I would say they dodged a bullet on this one. Again, it's just 9:22, but not bad at all at this point.

Bring it! Fridge is full of food and booze. Snowblower is gassed up, xc skis are waxed, and the guitar is tuned.

So what's the current storm status? I live in the area that predictions indicated severe weather conditions. I am visiting friends in Florida so I am happy to have missed this, but I am concerned for family and friends.

I'm in upstate NY and we were predicted 18 - 24 inches. We received 1 inch" Everything was shut down because the State announced my county a "State of Emergency" and nobody was allowed on the roads or receive a $300 fine. All businesses closed in prep for the "Blizzard" that didn't happen.

Predict a 24" Blizzard and get 1 inch!!??

It's very white in Central Connecticut. About a foot of snow on the ground and it looks like we'll get another 8-10 inches. The storm will probably pull out by the evening. Amounts are less towards the West. Lots of drifting because the snow is light and fluffy. It looks like the Boston area will have higher amounts.

Also, the light weight of the snow has kept the power outages to a minimum. After I finish my coffee, it's time to play guitar!

SW PA. First snow was not till January! We have less than a foot over 2 days. Its really coming down right now, we are on a main road it is covered right now. I hope it clears up or disables us. If its in between I have to drive a 100 miles this evening!

SouthEastern PA -
We have just a dusting so far, with more dust falling light but steady, with a prediction from my DARK SKY weather app (love it!) of 1-2" this morning,

yours in tune and snowflakes on nose and eyelashes

So far it's a clean miss in the mid-hudson valley. Got maybe an inch or so.

The kids are VERY disappointed.

Like I said earlier, they were on non-stop last night on CNN TRYING to point out how bad the conditions were in NY, and all I could see were wet roads and very few snowflakes falling. It's laughable.
