Default Twin Cities AGF Get-Together Feb 15 at 2pm

We're On!

Sunday, February 15 at 2pm (to 5 at the latest) at the Underground Music Cafe in St. Paul. We'll visit, ogle each other's new guitars, do some song circle and some individual "Open Mic" performances. The UMC has totally redone themselves, and if you haven't been there recently, you are in for a pleasant surprise!

Tell your friends, and see you there!

Hey Marty,
Glad to see you've arranged this get-together; thanks. Feb 15th should work out for me.

Excellent. Chris L, Gabe K, Jeff C, Howard L and Dave E say they're coming too. Hope we can get 12-18.

Nope. We'll be using the "house" stuff.

Planning to attend, it'll be my first time doing something like this, a little anxious about - but looking forward to it!

Thanks for the invite, Chuck. I'm planning on attending. Looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing/hearing the collection of instruments. I'm hoping to bring a couple of recently completed guitars to show. See you on the 15th.

Hi Drew,
Glad to hear you are planning to make it to the get-together. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your new work.

For those who aren't aware, Drew is a luthier local to the Twin Cities. I've seen some of his instruments at The Podium. His website is heinonenguitars.com

Welcome to the AGF

Thank you for organizing this (and for the email from Chuck regarding the event).

I'm planning on coming. I'll bring my 12 string and share a few of my 12 string compositions.

How many minutes per person typically for the open mic portions of these events?

Also, is this the same location as The Coffee Grounds (where we met before), but with a new name/new ownership?

At least 10 minutes per person. I'll have a sign-up sheet.

Yes, UMC is the old Coffee Grounds, much remodeled.

See you there!

Really disappointed. My oldest son's 25th birthday party has been moved to this date. Hoping to make it for at least a short time but it's not looking good. :-/

I'm looking forward to this event; hope we get a good sized group.

Space may get to be an issue, and we may need to stand up our guitar cases in a corner of the stage/room. In the past it's been helpful if everybody brought their own guitar stands.

See you all Sunday.

Default Goodies!

For the drawing today I have a number of classical and rock 'n' roll music books (including an Allman Brothers Band anthology), a set of D'Addario medium strings, a used TT-1000 electronic tuner, some AGF guitar picks...and...drum roll please...
