Fun "Other Stirnged Instruments" CD
I picked up "With My Little Ukulele in my Hand" at Half Price Books (don't know how wide a chain it is) for $13. Around 105 songs with everything from Sol Hoopii to Roy Smeck, to Jimmie Rodgers and beyond.
Frankly I would consider it worthwhile at its full retail price whatever that is. Not just Uke, but some great hawaiian lap playing on lots of the tunes. A "twofer" for the Other Stringed Instruments crowd! |

I'll throw this in as a plug in pretty much the same vein... If you go over to the Cigar Box Nation site, you can get free downloads of several different albums made by cigar-box guitar (and other instruments) builders handling a wide variety of tunes.
We even have two Christmas albums.... Some are very much amateurish, some are very nicely recorded indeed, and all are a good sampling of the creativity of the build-your-own set. |

Hey, Bikewer. I guess I wasn't clear in my post but I wasn't just plugging the CD I listed. I hoped to make this a place where folks could drop fun suggestions for CDs that feature the OSIs (Other Stringed Instruments) we all love.
So heck yeah! You know something you think might interest the OSI fans, drop it like it's hot! |
