Cool New Member

Hi,

I have been reading the posts on this forum for a while and have enjoyed the wealth of information of the members.

I have several, (my wife says too many), guitars. A couple of Martins and Ovations. I play mostly in church and I go visit some folks who are in nursing homes or unable to get out much. A little music always cheers them,(and me ), up.

Look forward to enjoying being a member.

Welcome to the group. There are some very knowledgeable people here. So what do you play when you go to the nursing homes?

Mostly old hymns and some country style gospel.

Welcome, Mike. I can safely say you'll like it here. Good people with good advice. If you aren't careful though, you really will end up with too many guitars. I understand it is a disease that goes around here.
Mike
p.s.: My wife says I have too many guitars too!

Welcome aboard Mike. That is really good of you to donate your time the way you do.

Most of our wives say the same thing about our guitars, so don't worrry. We'll teach you how to ignore it.

Welcome to this GREAT forum.... if your wife says you have too many guitars already, this may not be such a good idea!

Welcome aboard, Mike!

Be sure to heed the warnings you are receiving about 'GAS' being contagious. I only had 2 guitars when I came here, and now I have 10 or 12! I'm not sure of the exact amount because I've lost count. (Between buying and selling them, I have to check my website in order to find the current number.) It's all because of the talk here and the incredible guitars I have heard about, seen, and played since I joined this forum!

That's great that you are playing for nursing homes. I also play for churches, rescue missions and prisons, and am planning to do more for the elderly soon too, now that my awareness of this need has heightened due to my mother being an Alzheimers patient with dementia.

We are a guitar/music community here, with lots of evolving friendships, both online and in person, as a result of our common interests. If you would like to see some mug shots of some of us, or add one of your own, you can do so here: Member Photo Gallery

We hope you enjoy your stay here.

Another warm welcome, Mike. Well, maybe not actually. We have our first freeze warning tonight. But then, you're way up north, so you've probably been chewing whale blubber in your little round ice house for a couple of months already.

You're among friends here, many with similar gigs as you. Hope you enjoy the conversation here as much as I do.
